A Burmese betel nut box c. Late 19th century / early 20th century, of repousse silver, the sides decorated with zodiac motif panel among scroll work decoration and crab to lid centre, mythical creature etched to base. Provenance: from the private collection of an Australian diplomat, acquired from various posts throughout Asia in the 1980's and 1990's 15 cm diameter, 10 cm high
