Title inscription continues: First settled by Commodore Phillip, January 26, 1788, with 927 persons; population of the colony, June 1879, 712,019. View taken from the North Shore, with some localities identified in margins. Outstanding, on the horizon, is the newly completed Sydney Exhibition Building.
