A Tibetan bronze figure of Shakyamuni Buddha 15th/16th century, the figure of the historical Shakyamuni Buddha seated in padmasana atop a double lotus base, with the right hand in bhumisphara mudra, wearing an elaborate dhoti and patchwork cloth, with high pointed ushnisha and a dorje/vajra resting before the figure, 18.5 cm high, 11.5 cm wide.

    It is very fluid in a molten state, and its hardness, strength when set, and non-corrosive properties makes it most suitable for casting sculpture.
