A blue and white rouleau vase, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, of characteristic cylindrical form painted on the exterior in bright cobalt blue with a continuous scene of sages in discussion and otherwise occupied along a riverscape with high mountains, and with pavilions set among trees and shrubs, a flight of birds overhead, the neck and galleried rim encircled with key-fret, ruyi head and scroll borders, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a double circle, 44 cm high

  • Qing Dynasty - The Qing Dynasty was the last imperial dynasty of China, ruling from 1644 to 1912. It was established by the Manchu people, who originated from the northeastern region of China. The Qing Dynasty was preceded by the Ming Dynasty and followed by the Republic of China.
