An Indian silver three piece tea set with elephant spout and cobra handles by P. Orr and Sons, Madras, 19th century. The pot 12 cm high, 1005 grams total weight. The Scottish brothers, Peter and Alexander Orr arrived in Madras in 1843 and formed a partnership with another established Scottish family, the Gordons, who had been trading in Madras since 1792. The business is still active today.
