Sydney Parkinson, 'A head of a Chief of New Zealand...' and 'A New Zealand Warrior...', two rare steel engravings from the first edition of the alternative/unofficial account of Cook's first voyage, published, London 1773. The unauthorised publication of Parkinson's Journal, who died before the voyages' completion, by his brother followed a dispute with the Admiralty over ownership of the images.
