A rare pair of quality Chinese huanghuali Emperor and Empress chairs together with the matching side table; fine pierced and carved detail to the scrolling arms, back panels and supports, the seats panelled, the plain scrolling legs with fully stretchered base, the rectangular table of conforming design. Good dark rich colour and patina. Provenance: From the private collection of a retired German banker formerly working in Asia, now retired in New Zealand. Purchased in Malacca C1990,
