A rare Fahua heavily potted baluster jar, early Qing Dynasty, 17th century, glazed on the biscuit in dark green, apple green, blue, yellow and aubergine, the outer body with a pierced and sculptured design of a rocky landscape, flat unglazed base, 27 cm high, 17.5 cm diameter at rim, fitted wood stand. Provenance: F R Strange Pty ltd, lot 288, early 1980's

  • Qing Dynasty - The Qing Dynasty was the last imperial dynasty of China, ruling from 1644 to 1912. It was established by the Manchu people, who originated from the northeastern region of China. The Qing Dynasty was preceded by the Ming Dynasty and followed by the Republic of China.
