A hardwood folding horseshoe-back armchair, Jiaoyi 19th/20th century, the chair with rounded crestrail ending in outswept handrests, supported by the curved extensions of the front legs and curved back splat, the seat frame carved with two chilong and foliate scrolls, and the whiplash curve of the front legs securing metal bamboo-form struts to the crestrail, with further chased metal strapwork on the structural joins and on the footrest, 104 cm high, 68 cm wide, 62 cm deep
