New Zealand Medal, reverse dated 1863 to 1864. (H Trigger, Drumr HMS Esk), impressed naming. BBM records that 120 medals with these dates were issued to the ship. Longley (RN & RM) records 121 medals to RN and RM, and records that H Trigger was the only Royal Marine drummer awarded the medal. Crew took part in actions at Te Awamutu and Rangiawhia in February 1864 and at Gate Pa, Tauranga, in April 1864. With brief notes.
