New Zealand Medal, reverse dated 1845 to 1846. (T Tuzise, Gunrs Mate, HMS North Star), impressed naming. Also entitled to China Medal 1842. The recipient's surname is spelt 'Trezise' in both Longley (RN & RM) and Douglas Morris (NM). It was not unusual for misnaming of medals from the original hand-written muster rolls. Six officers and 27 naval ratings, together with 1 Royal Marine office and 7 NCOs and Medal (Total 41) received this dated medal. Crew of the ship, including recipient, took part in actions at Okaihau in May 1845 and in the assault on Ruapekapeka Pa in January 1846.
