A large Japanese Satsuma vase, circa 1940, a high shouldered baluster shaped vase having a short neck with a rolled rim, in muted hues, raised enamels and gilt upon a matte black ground with lotus patterns to the collar, the body depicting a female deity with a young attendant and two stern male figures, raised on a small flared foot; characters underside.
