Albert Einstein (1879-1955, the father of modern physics & one of the most prolific intellects in human history), display comprising March 1939 signed letter on Princeton University letterhead, window mounted with the envelope in which it was posted from Princeton to New York; also, a picture of Albert Einstein, overall 45 x 41 cm. The contents of the letter (written in German) concern a request for Einstein's assistance in securing a visa to America for a German Jew. Einstein replies that the US quota for incoming German emigrants is already exhausted for several years ahead. He suggests his correspondent look into opportunities in South America and also invites him to use his (Einstein's) good name in communicating with the American National Council of Jewish Women (who were deeply involved in refugee relief work)
