A wucai 'Dragon and Phoenix' bowl, Daoguang mark and of the period, 14.8 cm diameter. Provenance: John Kenny, Melbourne, Sotheby's, The Estate of the late John Kenny, Melbourne, 17-18 May 2004, lot 64, also featured on the cover. Private collection, Melbourne. John Kenny was an internationally recognised collector of antiques, particularly Chinese porcelain and glass. He left an exceedingly generous bequest of $400,000 to the Geelong College Foundation, and was also a major donor to both the National Gallery of Victoria and the Geelong gallery.
