A 19th century wooden lidded chest, on turned front legs stand, with decorative pierced brass corners, escutcheon and carrying handles, with presentation plates inscribed 'To air chief Marshall, to Sir Keith park by Sir Ernest Davies, mayor of Auckland'. Split turning implies a turned section that has been cut in half lengthwise and applied to a cabinet front as a false decorative support.
