A large Japanese Satsuma vase, Meiji period (1868-1912), impressive and lively scenes in enamels and gilt of the Gion Matsuri festival with the Naginata Hoko (Halberd Hoko) float taking centre stage, the reverse with ladies practicing elegant pursuits in front of a Japanese screen and hanging wisteria, signed. 31.5 cm high.
