Early 20th century Russian silver and enamel icon, marked 84 kokoshnik, 1896-1908, Cyrillic maker initials 'Sg', Nikolai Linden St Petersburg, Kazan icon of the mother of God, with dual polychrome enamel halos, Cyrillic plaques and lovely intricate foliate border, with gilt wash to silver, a/f (some damage to silver oklad edge), 26.5 cm x 22 cm Provenance: Grays, lot 11, 30/11/1981
