A portrait poster of Chairman Mao in green uniform against a red background with white border. This is generally believed to be the earliest official portrait of Chairman Mao after the foundation of the People's Republic of China. It carries a stamp in the lower right corner on the reverse which translates 'Free copy given by the Editing and Publishing unit, All-China Federation of trade Unions'. Printed by Shanghai Xu Sheng Ji Printing factory for Beijing Worker's Publishing house. Not dated. Size: 78 cm x 54 cm.
