18ct gold, jadeite and diamond ring. Of cluster design, centring a marquise shaped cabochon jadeite, within a surround of fourteen brilliant-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 0.70 carats, size J 1/2.. Lot 199 belonged to Chinese born industrialist, politician and philanthropist Cheong Fatt Tze (1840-1916). Cheong Fatt Tze lived and worked in Malaya and the Dutch East Indies amassing considerable wealth and influence at the time earning him the moniker 'the Rockefeller of China'. He built the famous Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion/ the blue mansion which is a heritage listed tourist attraction in Malaysia.
