English school, 18th century portrait of Mrs Lewis and Son, oil on canvas bears label to verso: Colonel Wiseman Clarke presumably a previous owner of the picture. A reference to him can be found in an article from the Illustrated London News 20 Jan.1883 referring to the great fire in Jamaica. Indistinctly signed and dated 1731 to the right of her elbow. With impressed stamp of William Morrill, liner, who was a famous 19th century restorer to the National Gallery London., 125 cm x 100 cm
