Leitz: Leica Model R3 Gold [#1523989] black lizard skin covering, issued in 1979 to commemorate The 100th Anniversary of Oskar Barnack's birth with a facsimile of his signature and the dates engraved on top of the prism housing. Fitted with matching gold and black Summilux-R f4 50 mmZ lens [#2932678]. As new in original box with felt lined timber presentation case, documents and certificate. Oskar Barnack the inventor of the Leica camera and Father of 35 mmZ photography would have turned 100 in November of 1979. He built his first 35 mmZ body in 1914 and it became the prototype for the world's first commercially built 35 mmZ cameras, the first Leica of 1925.
