Masanori Umeda (Japan, 1941- ) for Edra, Italy, a rare 'Getsuen' Lily Chair, this example in blue velvet upholstery; originally designed in 1990, as an attempt by Umeda to reconnect design with nature after a period of post-war industrialized design. Umeda was a member of the Memphis design group alongside Ettore Sottsass, original manufacturer's label to underside, 100 x 90 x 90 cm. Provenance: Private Collection
