Broome Western Australian Interest: Pair of pearl shell ornaments painted with missionary portraits of priests, one being of Asian descent, late 19th century. Note Broome was one of the few places in Australia during the late 19th century that allowed the migration of Asian people. A fascinating pair and the first we have seen in our rooms. 18 cm high
