Lily Kurrultya, dilly bag, Jarruluk, Northern Territory. Woven plant fibre and natural pigment. A dilly bag (burlupurr in Burarra or kunmadj in Kunwinjku) is a large woven collecting basket. These large baskets or bags are often made from pandanus spiralis, a plant which grows in many areas of Arnhem land, length 25 x 20 cm. Provenance: mimi Aboriginal Arts & Crafts ply Ltd, Code C4/843.
