Late 19th century American silver and enamel vesta case shaped as a rolled copy of the Scientific American magazine, produced by the Enos Richardson & Co, New York. Held in an envelope wrapper, stamped and addressed ready for posting, with an engraved addressee 'Ruby held New York' (the owner), postage stamp and postmark 'New York'12 2pm 90'. Marked inside the rim with patent date Oct. 14, 1890. Provenance: Argyll Etkin, London, September 1996. 6 x 2.8 x 1.3 cm
