Korean Blue and White Crane Jar

A large Korean blue and white jar, 19th/20th century, of bold form, softly decorated with a crane landing beneath the moon and a large pine tree, 30 cm high, 25 cm diameter. Provenance: purchased in south Korea, 1968-1971, Allan Henry Loomes Obe (1917-1990), and thence by descent. Allan Loomes was Australian Consul-General to Thailand (1949-1952) and Australian Ambassador to Burma (1958-1961), Thailand (1963-1968), South Korea (1968-1971), and Venezuela and Peru (1974-1978).
