Silver gilt cased lock of hair from Letizia Bonaparte, mother of Napoleon I. Presented to her younger Son, Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland, in 1831. Contained within a crystal case and in original silk lined leather case, monogrammed 'Lb' to cover. Including an inscription verso in the hand of Valerie Masuyer, lady in waiting etc. Provenance: Count Louis de Castelvecchio 1826-1869; thence by direct descent to current owner - private collection, ACT.
