A coat hanger by Albert Namatjira, Hermannsburg, Central Australia. Besides being a masterful watercolourist Albert Namatjira also produced a variety of wooden artefacts and souvenirs, including coat hangers, which are closely related in shape and form to traditional boomerangs. This example has been decorated with the image of a goanna, the inscription 'Hermannsburg, Central Australia' and has been signed by the artist, length 45.5 cm
