An impressive Chinese teak small mirror-back sideboard, extensively carved with Chinese scenes and motifs, the back surmounted by a carved foo dog and eight gambolling pups above a shelf supported by a pair of mandarin figures emblematic of Military and Merchant, the base with two frieze drawers over two cupboard doors. Maker's label to rear R. Lawrie Smith, 30 Nanking Road, Shanghai. circa 1904. (Some old damage). 136 x 60 x 196 cm.
