19th century bronze three clawed Japanese dragon vase with some Chinese influence, c1890. The King of dragons lived on the sea bottom. He owned the 'Tana', the pearl with ruled the tides. The ball on this vase represents the Tana. Height 29.5 cm

    It is very fluid in a molten state, and its hardness, strength when set, and non-corrosive properties makes it most suitable for casting sculpture.
