Two diamond and bar brooches, each set with old and rose-cut diamonds, the larger with kite-shaped sapphires, gross weight approximately 9.00 grams in total, the larger mounted in 18ct gold, the smaller mounted in 14ct gold, lengths respectively 8.50 cm and 5.50 cm.

    It was introduced in the 15th century and popular during the 16th and 17th centuries.

    The rose cut was the most popular form of diamond cut until the discovery of the brilliant cut at the end of the 17th century, after which its use declined.
