A Crown Lynn Wharetana Maori Art Pottery 'Canoe Bailer' dish, pierced 'Hei Weku figure', brown glaze, mottled green brown interior. Impressed 1011 to base, length 20 cm. The original catalogue notes 'These figures, generally known as Tikis, represent Maui of Old according to some legends, and are considered as giving grace and strength besides being lucky talisman.'
