19th Century Maori Carved Kumete

A 19th century Maori carved kumete, the figure supported bowl of oval form with flat rim, the front figure with clasped hands and extended tongue, finely carved, the larger figure to the other end of larger form, arms extended back towards the rim, the scrolling broad detail with notched carved highlights, evidence of age. Length 39 cm, height 17 cm. Reg. Y20951.
