A Vicuna pelt rug, Chilie, pre World War II, some stitching loose, pelts in good condition,a rare item bought to Australia from Chile pre World War II, Vicunas were hunted without restrictions from the period of Spanish conquest to 1964 which reduced its numbers to only 6,000 in the 1960s. As a result the species was declared endangered in 1974, now changed to threatened, 198 x 160 cm
