Carbine: 'Victoria Racing Club, Spring Meeting, 1889, Thursday, Official Programme', listing Carbine in both the Flying Stakes & Royal Park Stakes, pages 5-6 missing. Very rare and desirable programme. (Carbine raced four times during the 1889 Spring Carnival. On Saturday he ran 3rd in the Melbourne Stakes; on Tuesday he ran 2nd in the Melbourne Cup with 63.5kg; on Thursday he won the Flying Stakes; and on Saturday ran 4th in the Canterbury Plate, being tailed off due to a split hoof - the only race in which he failed to run a place).
