A large Chinese blue and white censer, Kangxi period (1662-1722), the censer of bombe form decorated in underglaze blue and with a cafe au lait rim, the rim further bound in bronze, decorated to the central register with a continuous scene depicting the seven sages of the bamboo grove, and the upper register decorated with four sprays of rose or peony. The base with a double blue line within the footrim, 14.5 cm high, 23 cm diameter.
