An c.1820 English percussion 'manstopper' military or coaching pistol, large 8' barrel faintly engraved 'London', captive ramrod and belt hook to left hand side. Possibly a private purchase as the 10 bore calibre is the same as that of the standard service musket. This model was used in the New Zealand Wars.
