'Alice in Holidayland' by F.W.Martindale 'A parody in prose, verse and picture perpetrated with apologies to the Immortal Originals of Lewis Carroll and John Tenniel.' Pictures by Frank Mason and Noel Pocock. second Edition. [Leeds; Chorley & Pickersgill; n.d. circa 1920]. Features a delightful Australian image of a kangaroo and a lion fighting over the Ashes, in an urn which Alice is holding tightly. This scarce publication was commissioned by the North Eastern Railway Company to accompany an advertising campaign which promoted the resorts in the north-east of England using characters from Carroll's popular books.
