Australia came 3rd in the medal tally at the London Games with 8 Gold, 4 Silver & 2 Bronze. The gold medallists were Jack Medcalfe (Athletics), Len Cook (Boxing), Duncan Gray (Cycling), Noel Ryan (2 golds in Swimming), Claire Dennis (Swimming - Australia's first female British Empire Games gold medallist), Dick Garrard & John Knight (wrestling).
