An old Maori carved handled wool bale/stevedore's hook, the mildly swollen cylindrical handle partly carved with a stylised Maori mask, paua inset eyes, zig-zag band to either end, original steel hook. The handle with incised carver's/owner's mark 'F'. Length 26.5 cm
