A scarce World War I 9ct. tribute medal, awarded to the next of kin of Lt. G.M. Don of Windsor, Oamaru. Suspended from a red, white and blue cotton ribbon, the medal unusually features a black enamel border around the 33rd Reinforcements badge. Don, a farmer, died of wounds on 25/8/1918. Maker marked 'Harris'.
