A Rene Lalique Danaides vase, designed 1926, the tapering cylindrical body moulded with a continuous design depicting female water carriers, each with a gourd raised to her shoulder, in frosted glass with slight opalescence, wheel-cut R. Lalique, 18.5 cm high. Provenance: Antiquarius Antique Market, London, Mr Hans Mueller and Mrs Gertrud Mueller, Sydney, acquired from the above on 5 April 1986. Literature: Felix Marcilhac, R.
