(Wool Industry), Electric sheep shearing machinery in Australia: a photographic archive, early 1900s. Electric sheep shearing was introduced into Australia in the 1880s, and by the end of World War I traditional shearing methods had been all but abandoned. This archive dates from the period between Federation and World War I.Although the identity of the photographer is unknown, the photographs appear to have been taken by an employee of the Wolseley Sheep Shearing Co as many of the images in this collection of 60+ photographs are of displays of Wolesley shearing machinery on display at Australian and New Zealand agricultural shows between 1904 and 1911. Mixed sizes and condition. (60+ items).
