Li Xiongcai (1910-2001), The Yellow Mountains, 1985. Ink on paper, hanging scroll. Inscribed and signed, with two seals of the artist, 143 cm x 68 cm. Guan Shanyue and Li Xiongcai visited Sydney and Melbourne in 1985, and held a joined exhibition 'Guan Shanyue, Li Xiongcai: Two Chinese Modern Masters' at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, 20 to 27 May 1985. This painting must have been created during the same trip. Provenance: Private collection VIC, acquired in the late 1990s from a student of Zhao Shaoang in Melbourne.
