A 19th Wakahuia (treasure box), finely carved of classical ovoid form. Each end with projecting wheku heads with paua shell eyes. The body of the box carved with radiating lines of rauponga with pakati (dog tooth) notching, and takarangi spiral decoration. The lid with conforming rauponga carving and pakati (dog tooth) notching, 48 cm length.
