A Russian icon, 'Christ Pantocator', early 19th century, in tempera colours upon a prepared panel, and typically depicting the image of Christ gazing out of the image with his right hand raised in benediction, the left cradling the bible, a naïve depiction with simple shapes and poker work decoration, with church Slavonic script in Cyrillic to the open bible and margins. Height 27.5 cm. Width 21.5 cm
