A ceremonial headdress, Wahgi Valley, Western Highlands Province, finely made from bark cloth and resin over a cane frame, decorated with croix seeds, shells, feathers and ochre painted. This type of headdress was unique to the Wahgi Valley clans. Provenance: Collected by Todd Barlin in the Western Highlands 1987 mount Hagen show. 70 cm
