A rare Japanese Hirado porcelain figure of a baby boy Meiji period, 19th century, modelled with the baby sitting front on without clothes, with his mouth open, the lips picked out in red, the eyes and brows picked out in brown, one hand resting on his knee. Condition: firing crack to base. Provenance: Private Collection, Ernest Elphinstone Antiques, Sir Robert Askin's Estate, former Premier of NSW 1965-1975. Height 24 cm. Width 22 cm
