An Arts & Crafts style carved sewing box, by Arthur Bertram Meddick 1898-1979. Working Great Britain and N.S.W., Australia. Carved circa 1920, for May Sterena (who later became his wife) with MS monogram carved front of box. the interior has a lift-out tray with lidded multi storage boxes and compartment lower. Height 18.5 cm. Width 30.5 cm. Depth 21 cm. Note: Arthur Bertram Meddick, a professional wood carver and builder by trade. His commissions include a pub facade at the Riverhead arms in the village of Riverhead Kent, U.K., and carving for a church in Windsor NSW, Australia
