A Chinese imperial medallion bowl, Daoguang mark and period (1821-1850), finely painted with four landscape scenes, reserved against a puce sgraffito ruby-ground, a stylized floral medallion in the centre. 15.7 cm diameter; 6.1 cm high. For a bowl with similar design also from Daoguang period see the Palace Museum, Beijing, see The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Porcelains with Cloisonne Enamel Decoration and famille rose Decoration, Hong Kong, 1999, p.244, no.216. Another similar bowl can be found in Victoria and Albert Museum (museum number: CIRC.494-1928).
